Workshops are a great opportunity for focused discussion and training while avalanche experts from around the world are in Whistler. Workshops will take place on Saturday, October 3, 2026 at different venues around town. 

How to Organize a Workshop 

We welcome proposals from anyone interested in hosting a workshop. To get started, please fill out the Workshop Proposal Form.

deadline: Workshop proposals are due by January 1, 2026 

location:

Workshops will take place at various venues around Whistler. We’ll help organizers find a suitable space based on workshop length, expected attendance, and any other requirements in the proposal. Venue rental costs range from $150 to $500, depending on location and duration (3 hr to full day). We recommend morning slots from 9:00-12:00 and afternoon slots from 13:00 to 16:00.  

costs:

Organizers cover venue rental costs and any food or drink they wish to provide. Workshops should be free for ISSW attendees. 

registration:

Workshops will be offered as an option during ISSW conference registration. Each workshop has limited capacity based on venue size. Late registrations may be possible if space permits. 

promotion:

Once your venue, time, and registration link are confirmed, we’ll add your workshop to the schedule and promote it through ISSW channels.
