+ volunteer for issw 2026

Volunteering for the Conference is a great way to get involved and get a glimpse at the professional world behind Snow and Avalanche Science & Management. Moreover, if you are a Guide or CAA member, the volunteer time can be used towards your Continuing Professional Development (CPD) credits.

Volunteers are a key part of what makes a conference successful! We are aiming to create a team for daily tasks such as Registration, Poster Setup and Management, Merchandise Sales, Managing the flow of Delegates, and Assisting at Special Events such as the afternoon Social Hour(s) of Evening Events.

On the Wednesday of the conference, while the professionals are off on Field Trips, there will also be another opportunity to Volunteer for the ISSWWF Public Snow and Avalanche Workshop which will be presented in partnership with Avalanche Canada.

With this in mind, there are a couple of options for commitment levels through the conference week. PLEASE NOTE - The morning before the start of the conference, Sunday, September 27th, will be a MANDATORY training session for ALL Volunteers:

  • Volunteer all week (incl. the Mandatory training session) to obtain access to the entire conference week & earn the max CPD points

  • Volunteer 3 days PLUS the Mandatory training session and get 3 day's access to the conference

  • Volunteer 2 days PLUS the Mandatory training session and get 2 day’s access to the conference

  • Volunteer 1 day PLUS the Mandatory training session and get 1 day’s access to the conference

If you are interested in volunteering, please click the link below and complete the questionnaire.

You will receive the registration form acknowledgement within 48 hours and will be added to an email list for updates leading up to the conference.

The Schedule and Daily Plan for Volunteers are still in the works - filling the daily need for Volunteers is our priority!
