WORKSHOP: Ski Cutting - Applications and Best Practices for Avalanche Hazard Reduction

1/2 day workshop covering various topics related to ski cutting for avalanche hazard reduction in an operational setting. 5-8 presenters at 15 min each, followed by a Q&A/Discussion panel with the presenters. See draft topics and sample schedule below. 

Topics: 

  • Applications for avalanche hazard mitigation (slope size, snow type, operation, etc.) 

  • Techniques for different snow/terrain 

  • Procedures and protocols 

  • Communication and observational recording 

  • Training and employee development 

Representation: 

Presenters should represent a variety of snow types, climates, and operations (Ski Areas, Transportation, Guiding, Industrial, etc.).
